Service Changes in response to Covid-19 Pandemic
With effect from Monday 30th March 2020, Warrington’s Own Buses will be making changes to a number of services. These changes are as a result of the further steep decline in passenger numbers that have been seen over the last 7 days due to Covid-19 pandemic and the Prime Minister’s call for us to all stay at home unless it is absolutely necessary. Regrettably these changes are necessary to ensure that we can continue to deliver a service that is sustainable, reliable and proportionate and enables us to continue to trade throughout the duration of the pandemic.
We will be operating a reduced Sunday service on all days of the week with additional journeys in the morning to enable our customers who use our services to travel to and from work to continue to do so. Most services will finish at 7pm from this week.
Westy Services 1, 2, 11 & 12
These will operate a reduced two hourly frequency across all services. Service 11 and 12 will operate twice daily. Service 10 will not operate.
Martinscroft & Woolston 3 & 4
Service 3 will operate a reduced two hourly frequency and service 4 will not operate.
Warrington West 13, 14, 15, 31 & 32
Service 13, 14 & 15 are reduced to provide a service every 3 hours on all routes providing an hourly service through Hood Manor estate and connections to shops and services. Service 31 will continue to operate as normal and service 32 will be reduced to a 60 minute frequency.
Dallam 16 & 16A
These services are reduced to Sunday service levels with enhancements Monday to Saturday. Services to and from the Dallam and the hospital will operate every 30 minutes as either a 16 or 20A from Warrington Interchange and as a 16 or 21A from Dallam or the Hospital to Warrington.
Service 17 is reduced to operate every 2 hours between Warrington Interchange and Gemini Retail Park/Callands Estate. The service to Birchwood is replaced by the 26/27 which cover the routes and operate every 2 hours.
The Pops 20 & 21
These services are reduced to Sunday service levels with enhancements Monday to Saturday. Services will operate every 30 minutes as either a 20, 20A, 21, or 21A. the 20A and 21A operate via Dallam and the Hospital.
Cheshire Cat (5, 6, 7, 8 & 9)
Service 5 & 5A are reduced to operate three times per day in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening. Service 6 is reduced to two hourly. Service 7, 8 will operate some journeys over the course of the day. Service 9 will operate the first and last trips between Warrington & Northwich Monday to Friday for key workers.
Service 22 & 22A
Service 22 is reduced to operate every 2 hours. Service 22A continues to operate in the evening.
Leigh 19 & 28A
Services 19 & 28 will be reduced to Sunday levels with the 19 operating every 3 hours between Warrington and Culcheth and the 28A operating every 3 hours between Warrington and Leigh with the last evening 28E operating at 21:00 hours.
Gorse Covert 25, 26 & 27
Service 25 will operate its first journey in the morning for key workers and is then replaced by the Sunday services 26 & 27 operating every 2 hours.
Service 62 & 62A
This service is temporarily withdrawn.
Services 47 and contract services to Lingley Mere Business Park will continue to operate as normal. Service 48/48A and contract services to Birchwood Business Park will operate a reduced level of service. Services 20, 20A and 3D in Halton will continue as normal.
With the exception of specific services listed here all services will finish from 19:00 hours.
