Real Time Information System for Warrington goes live
Warrington Borough Council’s Real Time Passenger Information system for bus passengers system has gone live. The system consists of 51 ‘at-stop’ electronic displays placed strategically across the Borough, which show scheduled departure times for the next five bus services due to call at the stop. ‘Countdown’ information to arrival is shown when the bus is detected as being 'on route'.
Network Warrington’s buses are all equipped with GPS units which enable the system to calculate reliable predicted arrival times at all 1,300 bus stops within the borough, which you can access when you use the internet or mobile applications, which are free to download.
Damian Graham (Managing Director) said: “The Council’s new Real Time Passenger Information system will provide existing and potential passengers with valuable information on where our buses are, to help make their journeys easier and safer”
“We are pleased that the Council has decided to replace the former out-dated real time system, in an effort to increase the use of sustainable transport and hope it will make it easier for people to use our bus service network.”
Information is available on the Traveline GB website at www.traveline.info with real time information available for all stops on the NextBuses tab.
You can download the Traveline GB App from Google Play or Apple's App Store.
