Service 14 & 15 Changes
Recent changes in this area have been made as the cost of operating, including driver's pay, fuel and engineering, has not been covered by the fares that we collect on bus and a need to offer a service proportionate to demand.
From the public consultation in Penketh in August 2018 the changes have been well publicised through briefings to local councillors, advertisements in the local press (Guardian and Warrington Worldwide), notices both on buses and our website, a social media campaign, on our social media channels and we had staff out on the buses the week before travelling around and talking to passengers.
An issue has been reported with the 14 being on diversion due to the Stocks Lane closure. We have requested funding from Network Rail for additional mileages (still awaiting a response on this). In the meantime, and to ensure a service is provided, we plan to operate alternating services (one clockwise then one anti-clockwise) around Station Rd /Park Rd / Lingley Rd / Liverpool Rd / St Mary’s Rd / Meeting Lane. This will be subject to short notice approval from WBC and the Traffic Commissioner.
We are also having discussions with local councillors and the parish councils around supporting additional bus services.
Information about these changes will be publicised on our website and social media channels as soon as we receive our short notice approval.
