Keeping Bus Drivers Healthy
It’s important to look after the health of those people driving buses. So, in celebration of World Health Day, Warrington’s Own Buses held its annual dedicated health and wellbeing event for its staff on Friday 4th April, bringing together many local health services to support both physical and mental health.
The event, hosted at the company’s Dallam Lane depot, featured a range of health focused activities and support services which compliments ongoing health management. Staff were offered free checks by the expert team from LiveWire, providing valuable insights into blood pressure, heart rate, and overall wellbeing. Attendees also had the opportunity to get advice and resources on quitting smoking, with trained professionals offering support to those looking to make positive lifestyle choices.
A key feature of the day was the presence of the Warrington Wolves foundation, who provided mental health support and guidance tailored for both men and women. Their participation underscored the importance of open conversations around mental wellbeing in the workplace.
To round off the event, a raffle was held with a variety of fantastic prizes up for grabs, including high street vouchers, and a signed Warrington Wolves ball and shirt – much to the excitement of staff and fans alike.
Mike Tickle, Training and Wellbeing Coordinator at Warrington’s Own Buses said: “We’re committed to supporting our staff in every way we can, and this World Health Day event was all about encouraging healthy lifestyles, mental wellbeing, and providing real support where it matters. It was a great day and we’re thankful to the organisations who attended for their support.”
The event reflects Warrington’s Own Buses’ ongoing commitment to employee wellbeing and the strong community partnerships that help make it possible.
