£2 Bus Fare Cap Extension Until March 2025

We are delighted that Warrington Borough Council have recently announced that the £2 adult capped fares and £1 capped fares for under 22s will remain in place until 31st March 2025 in the borough – despite the national announcement that the fare cap in England will rise from £2 to £3 at the end of this year.

Warrington has received £3.8million in Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP) funding for 2025/26.

The council are exploring options to extend low fares beyond March 2025 as well as other improvements such as enhanced timetables, new bus shelters and improved accessibility that will benefit all passengers.
