Closure of Bold Street - Sankey Gateway Development
Sankey Gateway – Road Closure Bold Street
Monday to Friday All Day
Services C47, 1, 2, 5, 12, 25 ,28, 28A, 42A, 62, 62A, 96, P18
We have been informed by W. B. C. that Bold Street will be closed on Monday to Fridays from Tuesday, 26th May 2026 for up to 11 weeks for the Sankey Gateway development.
Bold Street will be open on Saturday and Sunday - Services will operate as normal routes.
As a result, the outbound journeys on the services above will be required to divert during the closure times.
Service is to divert as follows:
Services C47, 1, 12, P18, 42A, 62 & 62A
Will operate from Warrington Interchange via Scotland Road exit then Scotland Road, Academy Street, and Mersey Street to Bridgefoot then as normal route.
Service 96
Will operate from Warrington Interchange via Scotland Road exit then Scotland Road, Academy Street, Mersey Street and Bridgefoot to Wilson Patten Street then as normal route.
Services 2, 25, 28 & 28A
Operate from Warrington Interchange via Scotland Road exit then Scotland Road, Academy Street, and Buttermarket Street then as normal route.
Temporary bus stops are in place on Buttermarker Street and Academy Street.

Diversion on the 5A
Diversions are in place on the 5A because of roadworks. we are unable to serve grosvener road in both directions, we will be traveling down ashton road and joining the rour back on wash way road
Thelwall Rose Queen 2026
Services 5 & 5A – Road Closures Thelwall
Saturday, 20th June 2026 from 1230 until 1430
We have been informed by WBC that the roads in and around Thelwall will be closed between 1230 and 1430 for the 2025 Thelwall Rose Queen.
Service is to divert as follows:
Service 5/5A
Outbound: From Warrington as normal to Knutsford Road then (A) Knutsford Road, (L) Stockport Road, (A) Stockport Road and then as normal route to Lymm
Inbound: As reverse of outbound diversion
Bawming of the Thorn
Service 8 – Road Closures Appleton Thorn
Saturday, 20th June 2026 from 1130 until 1330
We have been informed by WBC that the roads in and around Appleton Thorn will be closed between 1130 and 1330 for the 2026 Bawming of the Thorn.
We regret that whilst the roads are closed service 8 will have to terminate at Grappenhall Heys.

Services 5 & 5B – Road Closures Lymm Historic Transport Day
Sunday, 28th June 2026 from 1000 until 1130
We have been informed by WBC that the roads in and around Lymm Cross will be closed between 1000 and 1130 for the 2026 Lymm Historic Transport Day 2026.
Service is to divert as follows:
Service 5B
Outbound: From Warrington as normal Church Road then (L) Brookfield Road, (A) (across Eagle Brow) Brookfield Road, (A) Dane Bank Road, (A) Dane Bank Road East, and (L) New Road/Rush Green Road and then as normal route to Altrincham.
Inbound: As reverse of outbound diversion
