Closure of Rush Green Road, Lymm
Services 5A & 5B – Road Closure Rush Green Road, Lymm
Friday, 23rd October to Monday, 26th October 2026 inclusive
We have been informed by WBC that New Road, Rush Green Road, and Birchbrook Road, Lymm will be closed to all traffic for electric cable installation.
The closure will be in place for four days.
A shuttle bus will be in place on all days operating between Sale and Partington.
Service is to divert as follows:
Services 5A & 5B
Due to the closure of Rush Green Road Services 5A and 5B will divert from Lymm to the A56, then direct to Sale Metrolink Station.

Closure of Knutsford Road Swingbridge
Service 5A
We have been informed by WBC that the Knutsford Road Swingbridge will be closed from 0000 until 0530 on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th, and Thursday 29th October 2026
Service is to divert as follows:
Service 5A 0508 Warrington to Sale will operate via Wilderspool Causeway and as service 5 route to Knutsford Road and then as normal route.

Closure of Knutsford Road, Antrobus
Road Closure – Knutsford Road, Antrobus
Services 9 & 9A
We have been notified by Cheshire West and Chester that Knutsford Road (Antrobus) will be closed due to roadworks on from Monday, 26th October 2026 for five days.
9 and 9A journeys scheduled to operate via Antrobus will have to remain on the main road and omit the village.
CWAC will be putting information regarding this at the affected stops at Antrobus, and also on the information screen at Northwich.

Closure of Bold Street - Sankey Gateway Development
Sankey Gateway – Road Closure Bold Street

Services C47, 1, 2, 5, 12, 25 ,28, 28A, 42A, 62, 62A, 96, P18
We have been informed by W. B. C. that Bold Street will now be closed on ALL DAYS until further notice for the Sankey Gateway development.
As a result, the outbound journeys on the services above will be required to divert during the closure times.
Service is to divert as follows:
Services C47, 1, 12, P18, 42A, 62 & 62A
Will operate from Warrington Interchange via Scotland Road exit then Scotland Road, Academy Street, and Mersey Street to Bridgefoot then as normal route.
Service 96
Operate from Warrington Interchange via Legh Street then Sankey Street, wait time at the Town Hall Stop (AD) then Liverpool Road then as normal route.
Services 2, 25, 28 & 28A
Operate from Warrington Interchange via Scotland Road exit then Scotland Road, Academy Street, and Buttermarket Street then as normal route.
Temporary bus stops are in place on Buttermarker Street and Academy Street.

We have been informed by Warrington Borough Council that these works will finish on Friday, 30th October 2026, and services will return to their normal routes on the reopening of Bold Street.
