Warrington’s Own Buses Leads the Way in Passenger Satisfaction Improvement
3 weeks ago
Warrington’s Own Buses is proud to announce that it has achieved the most significant improvement in passenger satisfaction nationwide, as recognised by independent watchdog Transport Focus. The 2024 Your Bus Journey survey highlights an impressive eight-percentage-point increase in satisfaction, with 85% of journeys rated positively – bringing the company above the national average.
This progress places Warrington’s Own Buses 10 places higher than last year, now ranking 26th in the country. Alongside East Sussex, Warrington is officially the most improved area in the UK for bus passenger satisfaction.
At Warrington’s Own Buses, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible, and sustainable transport for our community. The improvements recognised by Transport Focus are a result of significant investment and innovation alongside our partners at Warrington Borough Council including:
- Affordable fares – We continue to offer £1 fares for under 22s and £2 adult fare cap, despite the national cap rising to £3.
- Better accessibility – Free concessionary pass travel is available at any time of the day.
- Enhanced services – More frequent buses and improved timetables.
- Sustainable fleet – Our program of replacing our fleet with 105 brand-new electric buses is nearly complete.
These investments have made a real difference to passengers, with the Your Bus Journey survey showing major improvements across key areas:
- Bus journeys overall – up 8%
- Value for money – up 9%
- Bus stops – up 10%
- Journey times – up 11%
- Waiting times – up 10%
- Punctuality – up 6%
- Bus driver experience – up 4%
Transport Focus surveyed 41,000 passengers across 39 areas in England, plus 3,500 in Scotland and 3,600 in Wales.
