Winwick Road Roadworks & Closures

From 6th January 2025, there will be a program of roadworks and closures effecting Winwick Road for a period of 12 weeks.

UPDATE 10th March 2025
The roadworks on the main carriageway are still to south of Longford Street/Kerfoot Street with a one lane closure.

From Thursday 13th March 2025, there will be no right turn from Winwick Road onto Pinners Brow.  The closure will be in place for up to 3 days between 1900 - 0600.

Services 19, 21, 22 & 22A will divert as follows:

As normal routes to Winwick Road then Lythgoes Lane to Cockhedge Roundabout then Brick Street, Fennell Street, Dial Street, Buttermarket Street, Scotland Road to Warrington Interchange.

From Sunday 16th March, Pinners Brow will be closed for up to 8 days between 1900 - 0600.

Services 19, 20, 21, 22 & 22A will divert as follows:

Northbound service 21 as normal to Winwick Street then will go round the roundabout to go back onto Winwick Street then Haydock Street, Lythgoes Lane, Orford Lane then Winwick Road onto normal route.

Southbound services as normal routes to Winwick Road then Lythgoes Lane, Cockhedge Roundabout, Brick Street, Fennell Street, Dial Street, Buttermarket Street, Scotland Road and into Warrington Interchange.

Also from Thursday 13th March 2025, there will be no right turn from Winwick Road on to Long Lane for one week.

Service 20 will divert as follows:

As normal route to Winwick Road then Winwick Road to Sandy Lane roundabout then Sandy Lane West, Cotswold Avenue and then as normal route.

Services 49 & 286 will divert as follows:

Service will go along Winwick Road to Sandy Lane roundabout, go around and come back down Winwick Road then onto Long Lane then as normal route.
