Service Changes in response to Covid-19 Pandemic

With effect from Monday 23rd March 2020, Warrington’s Own Buses will be making changes to a number of services. These changes are as a result of the steep decline in passenger numbers that have been seen over the last 7 days due to Covid-19 pandemic. Regrettably these changes are necessary to ensure that we can continue to deliver a service that is sustainable, reliable and proportionate and enables us to continue to trade throughout the duration of the pandemic.

We will be operating a reduced Saturday service on all days of the week with additional journeys in the morning to enable our customers who use our services to travel to and from work to continue to do so.

Westy Services 1, 2, 11 & 12

These will operate a reduced hourly frequency across all services. Service 10 & 10A will not operate.

Martinscroft & Woolston 3 & 4

These will operate a reduced hourly frequency across all services.

Warrington West 13, 14, 15, 31, 32 and 33

Service 13 will operate a reduced hourly frequency and the 14 & 15 are retimed slightly to provide a 20 minute service through Hood Manor estate. Service 31 will continue to operate as normal and service 32 will be reduced to a 30 minute frequency and will continue to serve Tannery Lane.

Dallam 16 & 16A

These services are reduced from operating every 10 minutes to operating every 20 minutes.

Connect 17

Service 17 is reduced to operate every 30 minutes between Warrington Interchange and Gemini Retail Park/Callands Estate. The service continues to operate every 30 minutes between Warrington Interchange and Birchwood.

The Pops 20 & 21

Both services are reduced to operate every 20 minutes throughout the day.

Cheshire Cat (5, 5A, 6, 7, 8, 9, 9A)

Service 5 & 5A are reduced to operate every 2 hours. This means that services to Altrincham are now hourly instead of half hourly. Service 6 is reduced from half hourly to hourly. Service 7, 8 & 9 are largely unchanged.

Service 22 and 22A

Service 22 will continue to operate as normal for the present time.

Leigh 19, 28 & 28A

Services 19 & 28 will be reduced to operate every 2 hours providing an overall hourly service between Warrington Interchange & Leigh.

Gorse Covert 25

This service is reduced to operate hourly instead of half hourly.

Service 62

This service is reduced to two hourly on Saturdays.

Other services

Services 23A, 47, 48/48A and contract services 96 & 98 will continue to operate as normal.

Evening and weekend tendered services will continue to operate as normal.
